SEANGP.com (Jakarta) - The first half of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship campaign has set the scene for a sensational final four races, with eight different winning crews to-date hinting at an intriguingly unpredictable battle for honours across the board. Here are the statistics of the season so far...

• For only the second time in FIA WEC history, four different cars have won the opening four rounds outright – the #8 Toyota at Imola, #20 BMW at Spa-Francorchamps, #7 Toyota at Le Mans and #15 BMW at Interlagos
   
• For the first time, the season has similarly begun with four different LMGT3 winners – the #69 Team WRT BMW at Imola, #10 Garage 59 McLaren at Spa, #33 TF Sport Corvette at Le Mans and #34 Racing Team Turkey by TF Corvette at Interlagos
   
• That makes for eight different winners from the first four races – unprecedented in the current Hypercar/LMGT3 era
   
• Also for the first time ever, three separate driving crews (#8, #20, #7) have led the world championship standings through the opening four rounds
   
• This is the third time that there has been a tie at the top of the title table – between Robin Frijns and René Rast in the #20 BMW, and Toyota’s #7 trio of Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Nyck de Vries; on the previous two occasions (Fuji 2019 and Fuji 2022), the leading line-up has held on to clinch the crown
   
• São Paulo’s Autódromo José Carlos Pace became the first circuit in FIA WEC history to produce five different overall winners in consecutive editions – Audi in 2013, Porsche in 2014, Toyota in 2024, Cadillac in 2025 and BMW in 2026
   
• The 8,015 laps completed in São Paulo marked the most ever accrued in a six-hour FIA WEC race; seven different Hypercars led at Interlagos – more than at any other event to-date this year – including the #17 Genesis, as the Korean newcomer enjoyed its maiden spell at the head of the order
• The championship-leading #20 BMW has registered the most dominant success of the season so far, leading for 62.9% of the total distance at Spa; conversely, the same race saw Garage 59’s #10 McLaren triumph without leading a single lap – the first time that had occurred in LMGT3
   
• Ten drivers have celebrated their breakthrough victory in the series over the course of the opening four rounds (Antares Au, Peter Dempsey, Tom Fleming, Dan Harper, Marvin Kirchhöfer, Kevin Magnussen, Raffaele Marciello, Anthony McIntosh, Parker Thompson and Sheldon van der Linde) – more than double the figure at the same stage last season, with in excess of 250 drivers having now prevailed either overall, in LMGT3, LMP2, GTE Pro or GTE Am
   
• Four different marques have ascended the Hypercar podium in 2026 – BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari and Toyota – with Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Lexus, McLaren and Porsche all reaching the rostrum in LMGT3
   
• Having jointly sewn up the first five rounds in 2025, however, Ferrari and Cadillac have both now gone more than a year without toasting an outright win
   
• Courtesy of victory at Imola and the runner-up spoils in São Paulo, BMW has become only the second manufacturer to notch up ten podiums in LMGT3, after Porsche, while the title-defending #92 The Bend Manthey Porsche 911 GT3 R shared by Richard Lietz, Riccardo Pera and Yasser Shahin is the sole LMGT3 entry to have tallied more than two top three finishes this year, placing third at Imola, Spa and Interlagos
• • 14 LMGT3 cars finished on the lead lap in Belgium – a new record for the production-based class
     
  • ?The LMGT3 pole position curse, though, continues, with no pole-sitter in the category having converted their qualifying advantage into a rostrum result in over a year; the best result for an LMGT3 entrant from pole thus far in 2026 has been 13th…
     
  • Four of the eight triumphs to-date this season (across both divisions) have been achieved from outside of the top ten on the grid, with the winners’ average starting position being just 7.75th in Hypercar and 11.5th in LMGT3
     
  • 14th on the grid for the 24 Hours of Le Mans-conquering #7 Toyota was the lowest starting spot for an overall winner of the twice-round-the-clock contest in three-and-a-half decades, and the lowest for the winner of any FIA WEC race since the series’ inception
     
  • 2026 has already seen new top speed records established, with Cadillac’s Earl Bamber and Ferrari’s Alessandro Pier Guidi reaching 351.8km/h in the Hypercar class at Le Mans, and Iron Lynx Mercedes-AMG driver Lin Hodenius peaking at 304.5km/h in the same event in LMGT3
